Camp Descriptions (Ages 4-6)

The Creative Munchkin Series - 9am-Noon (Ages 4-6): Art, movement, and play for our youngest campers. These half-day, week long camps are looking for silly characters to put on a show! Each day will consist of different activities based on that week’s theme. Final Showcase on Fridays at 11:30am!

Ages 4-6: Creative Munchkin Series -  Half Day Camps (9 AM – Noon)

Creative Munchkins

Week 1: June 19 – June 23

Silly with Seuss – 9am-Noon Oh the places you'll go with the friends you'll soon know. This week of camp will sure be a silly time with our favorite characters like the Cat in the Hat, Sam I am, and the Who's!

Week 2: June 26 – June 30

Under the Sea – 9am-Noon – Let's hop aboard our submarine and explore the adventures of the Sea through movement, song, and art. What shall we find on our adventure? Mermaids? Nemo? Maybe even a treasure map!?

Week 3: July 10 – July 14

Wild Things – 9am-Noon –We are looking for the wild ones in the bunch to enjoy this week at camp! From Where the Wild Things Are to calling all monsters to report to duty at Monsters INC. This will sure be a hairy and scary week at camp!

Week 4: July 17 – July 21

Animal Kingdom – 9am-NoonLions, Tigers, and Bears, Oh MY! This week our campers will transform the Art Center and themselves into an Animal Kingdom. No matter what animal your camper loves, each activity will be for the animal in all of us!

Week 5: July 24 – July 28 - FULL

Disney Mania Jr. – 9am-NoonCampers will work with their favorite Disney songs and characters to learn the fundamentals of singing and dancing! Build confidence and coordination to your favorite Disney tunes!

Week 6: July 31 – August 4

Superheroes Convention – 9am-NoonCalling all Superheroes! In this last week of camp, our youngsters will be saving our Port City from the mischievous villains! Our projects this week will include cape and mask making as well as finding our inner super powers!




Our Management

The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center is managed by the staff of the The Thalian Association, the Official Community Theater of North Carolina.

The Thalian Association is a non-profit, membership organization founded in 1788 to provide arts education and bring the excitement of the performing arts to Wilmington. The organization has its offices and holds auditions at the Community Arts Center.  The Center also hosts the Thalian Children's Theater classes and performances.
