We provide classroom space for music, art, theater, dance and more for children, teens and adults. If you're interested in teaching or starting other types of artistic endeavors at the Community Arts Center you will find that our rates here at the Center are very reasonable!

The Hannah Block Community Arts Center in Wilmington, NC is truly a multi-use facility.  Five studios are available to nonprofit organizations for theatrical rehearsals, musicals, recitals and classes. We also have a kitchen, making our space ideal for weddings and receptions.

VISIT OUR MUSEUM

From 1941 to 1945, the USO hosted 35,000 uniformed visitors a week. Recently renovated with sensitivity to its historic character, the Hannah Block Historic USO (HBHUSO) lobby serves as a museum where WWII memorabilia and other artifacts are displayed.

Our Management

The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center is managed by the staff of the The Thalian Association, the Official Community Theater of North Carolina.

The Thalian Association is a non-profit, membership organization founded in 1788 to provide arts education and bring the excitement of the performing arts to Wilmington. The organization has its offices and holds auditions at the Community Arts Center.  The Center also hosts the Thalian Children's Theater classes and performances.
